Re: Brad Delp
A very sad loss. I remember hearing Boston's first album on the Alan "Fluff" Freeman Saturday Rock Show. He played "More than a feeling" and "Long time" and I was knocked out. The vocal was astonishing.
I saw Boston at the Rainbow a little later and thought they were amazing live too. That band "upstairs" just keeps getting larger. |

Re: Brad Delp
saw boston in '78..bingley hall, stafford..tour for the second album, they were as good live as on record. Brad had a super voice, i agree with KW, 'long time' was a vocal triumph for Brad.A real shame.

Re: Brad Delp
Yes another sad loss and you're right KW about upstairs.
I found the news pretty quick after it broke but Boston is not on the moon so I felt it would be out of place.

Quote:
I'd read that Boston was secretly working together on a new album (not that much of a secret if that fact was publicized somewhere). Looks like the death of that effort too. Too bad.

Re: Brad Delp
I saw them back in '02 on their Corporate America tour. Great show. Great singer. Sad loss.

Re: Brad Delp
Sad news indeed. I was lucky enough to see them on their debut tour and other times too. As others have stated they were an incredible live band. Brad will be missed dearly.

Re: Brad Delp
Music can define a time. That first album came out my senior year of High School. It was playing everywhere. So for me hearing it always calls back that time. That's a gift music sometimes gives. He will be missed I'm sure. Paw

Re: Brad Delp
Sad loss, he brought Scholz's songs to life. True 70s pop/rock magic.
I too saw the Stafford Bigley Hall gig. |
