The Fusion Reactor #162 - All Sevens

So seven is a popular prog time signature. Many of the songs on tonight's show may be in seven, but that's not what this show is about (but it may show up on a future Reactor sometime). This is about the number seven in general. Besides, I prefer 5/8 as my odd meter of choice.

Anthem Of The Seventh Day - Ajalon 4:25
Sevens - Govan, Guthrie 5:57
Seventh Crusade - Soniq Theater 5:03
The Seventh Dimension - Wakeman, Rick 4:29
Seven Moons - Atlantis1001 6:38
Lucky Seven - Squire, Chris 6:55
Seven Stones - Genesis 5:12
Seven by Seven - Hawkwind 8:53
The Seventh Sign - Section A 8:52
Seven Days - Mind's Eye 6:23
All Sevens - Wackerman, Chad 8:13
Seven Dead-Lies - Medeski Martin & Wood 10:56
One in Seven - Soulive 5:17
Seven Days - Metheny, Pat 4:05
System Seven - Fleck, Béla & the Flecktones 4:17
Spiral Seven - Jazz Mutants 7:52
Beyond the Seventh Galaxy - Return To Forever 3:15
Seven Sisters - McLaughlin, John 10:17

Rick will be upset that Iron Maiden aren't there.

Great list there Moses. Nice to see Hawkwind getting a play alongside the likes of RTF and Pat Metheny.

I've been playing Chris Squire's "Fish out of water" a lot lately too. Hope I can tune in.

Ya know, that's one of the few Iron Maiden songs I can actually name. The others would be Run To The Hills and Two Minutes To Midnight.

...

...

Yep, that's all I can think of.

I wouldn't be upset....maybe an IQ fan would be for not playing Seventh House.

Always like Seven Stones.

Neat tag moses "no flame wars"...like that a lot.

What if you did a show with each piece moving upwards in the meter number?
Of the top of my head...

Don Cab - Ones All Over the Place (in 1)
(lots of things in 2, 3, and 4)
Radiohead - Everything in It's Right Place (in 5)
(lost of things in 6)
Floyd - Money; Yes - Lightning Strikes (in 7) - many others
(Lots in 8)
Genesis - Supper's Ready (section in 9)
10?
Yes - Awaken (section in 11)
American Football - Never Meant (in 12)
King Crim - Starless (bass line in 13)
14?
15?
16?
Yes - Changes (opening and closing mostly in 17)
18? Etc.....

It's an idea.

Interesting idea.

For help if you decide to go with it try this page in Wiki.

Now that looks like a fun page to check out even if I don't go with this idea!

Yes, I have an odd idea of "fun" don't I?

Soulive is (in my opinion) in the same category as Medeski Martin & Wood: used to be amazingly great, but times have changed.
