A thought for a show........

Moses,

How about a show dedicated to Chick Corea????

I don't mean his work with Miles or any other of the multitude of GIANTS he has played with, but his solo work.

You could even leave out RTF.......as odd as that may seem and concentrate on the albums from Elektrik Band (Versions I and II) or even the Akoustik Band (although AK are more straight Jazz than Fusion.....as you know) so that might not fit in with the show.

I'd love to know what you think..............

PS. If I've completely lost the plot and you've been there already I'm sorry and will crawlback into my hole.

That's a great idea. I'm afraid (ashamed?) that my solo Chick Corea stuff is a bit lacking and I don't know if I could pull it off at this point. I can count all my Akoustik Band discs on zero hands.

I'll take inventory of what I have and what the Moon has and see if it's feasible.

My friend Ed seems to have every jazz/fusion CD known to man. I'll call him. Just saw him all w/e at Rosfest...we were discussing another "Ed show" like I did last year...

I'm lacking in Chick's solo also.

There you go! Maybe you and Ed can put together a more comprehensive Chick Corea show than I can. I mean, I've got the RTF stuff, a couple Elektrik Band discs, and... that's it.

I'd rather pass that to you. I also have only the RTF and one Elektrik...anyway, I like to play Ed's other stuff and that way look like I at least know something about fusion.

He supplied me the Nova and the Prism also...

Re: A thought for a show........

I think I have a Chick Akoustic that I didn't put on the Moon since it leaned towards more traditional jazz to my ears - but it is good. If you're interested I can double check and upload it...

I have all the Elekrtik Band and a couple of Akoustik band disks. Also have a few more of his more avant garde CDs and a great album called "Friends". If I had a way of uploading (FTP?) them I'd try and put together a list of tracks for a show but as I don't at the moment it would take ages to send each file seperately.

Re: A thought for a show........

What's that site Yesspaz uses for that? You zip the files together in 100 MB chunks and upload it to that site, and then send the recipient to get it from there. (Or you can pay more to send larger files, but that's kinda silly IMHO.

Found it! http://www.yousendit.com/

Re: A thought for a show........

I have Now He Sings - Now He Sobs if needed. (I think that's Corea...)

And www.yousendit.com allows you to send files up to 1G, not 100M. It uploads to a server and emails the recipient that the file is there. You have one week to download it and then it's deleted.

Re: A thought for a show........

FYI - I picked up another Elektric band CD (Paint the World), so things are moving forward on this. I have not yet forgotten.
